Since my father, Mir Jalal, died 20 years ago, on various occasions I have been asked to write introductions to books of his which were being reprinted or to pen recollections of my own. For various reasons I have declined-mainly because I didn't think the general reader would be so interested in my own personal impressions. I still feel this way. But because of the ever-increasing interest in his works and personality, now, on his 90th birthday, I have decided to write about a few of the experiences we shared together.
