It is with great pleasure that I am sending my greetings to the training workshop on "Save Plant Genetic Resources for Prosperity" organized by Plant Genetic Resources Center, to celebrate 25th Anniversary of the institute. In Sri Lanka, agriculture plays a presiding role in the economy by contributing 10% of the overall Gross Domestic Production. In a country with a long history of agriculture, development of sustainable agriculture is a requisite to ensure food security for the nation.
