DAMION WAYMER. Culture, Social Class, and Race in Public Relations. Lanham Boulder New York Toronto, LEXINGTON BOOKS, 2012.
According to the University of Minnesota's Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA), culture is "the shared patterns of be haviors and interactions, cognitive constructs, and affective understanding that are learned through a process of socialization. These shared patterns identify the members of a culture group while also distinguishing those of another group" (2012, para. 1). Thus according to this definition, we can highlight two key characteristics of culture: culture is learned; and culture is passed on from generation to generation in a society.
